This bot posts map locations and updates from a long drive home.
When I was making this bot, I was thinking about a very long drive I made a few years ago. The circumstances were such that I wanted to get back as soon as I could, but also wanted to never arrive. Sometimes it feels like I’m still on that drive, so I made a bot to continue the endless journey in my stead.

Technical Details
The journey is modeled as a random walk across the longitude and latitude coordinates of the continental US. The maps and geocoding are from Mapbox. The map style is also from Mapbox. It was created by Saman Bemel-Benrud and was inspired by old Standard Oil road maps. The messages are created using Allison Parrish’s python port of Kate Compton’s Tracery.
